As summer comes to an end I find myself impatiently awaiting the return of Autumn here in the Pacific Northwest. Crisp cool air, the changing of the leaves, the glisten of the rain, the glow of the autumn colors at dusk from the street lights, creates a beautiful backdrop almost everywhere you turn.
Autumn also means time to dust off those wonderful handmade afghans that usually get tucked away in the summer time. For those that have some of those hand made blankets laying around, you know what I am talking about here. In our house, we are adorned with these wonderful cozy afghans.
One, made by fiance's mother, two that I acquired after my father passed away (although I am not sure exactly where they came from when I was younger), one that I claimed when no one else did when I moved from the house in Edgewood (which is what that specific blanket is actually called in my house - "Edgewood") and one that I am currently working on that my son has named "Rivendale". Yes, we like to name our handmade afghans as we appreciate the time and love that was put into creating them.
Along with Autumn comes the return of football season! GO HAWKS! Yes, I am a Seahawks fan, my favorite all time player is Steve Largent #80. :) So with the return of my favorite team comes Blue Friday and the inspiration of my current project. A Seahawks inspired knit scarf in an amazing soft to the touch metallic blue and green yarn for my fellow Seagals out there! I'm hoping to have my first completed test scarf finished and up for grabs here on our webpage as well as on Facebook and Twitter. :)
*Sigh* I cannot wait for the return of Autumn and all things that come with it!
